Even with as a high performance loan officer, there is one specific trait that may prevent you from hitting your goals this month.

No it’s not a lack of leads.

No its not having enough top performing real estate agents on your team.

It’s not managing the large stack of paperwork on your desk.

It’s that nasty word that makes all LO’s cringe.

Procrastination.

If you suffer from procrastination you’re not alone.

According to “Psychology Today” there are many reasons why we suffer from procrastination.

Absence of structure. Unpleasant tasks. Timing. Anxiety. Lack of Self-confidence.

Here are some steps to combat these symptoms of procrastination.

Create a process for success:

In what order do tasks need to be properly done?

Create a drawing of the tasks and place them in order of priority  in each step.

Getting your thoughts on paper frees up a lot of new mental ram and helps put your mind in a solution oriented process, rather than worrying which makes you feel like you’re accomplishing a lot when you’re not.

“Small chunk it”

If a tasks seems to overwhelm your brain, don’t shut down.
Break the task down into smaller tasks and then focus on completing each mini task.
See if you can push a deadline out further or get some extra help from an intern.

A great question to ask is: “How can I break this challenge down into bite size piece that don’t overwhelm me?”

Now the third solutions is a little “weird” but has been know to spark creativity in successful people looking for a solution to a big project.

What is this weird “success hack”?

Being near water!

It turns out being near water can help with the creative flow when your brain feels jammed?

Scientist even have stated how taking a show can lead to that breakthrough thought that can pull you out of procrastinating.

Want to know how it works?

It turns out a lot of dopamine is released in our brains. Triggers like exercising, listening to music, and even taking a warm shower, contribute to increased dopamine flow.

Give our brains some dopamine, so warmth to relax in and break from stressing from our problems and solutions start flowing!
